Judgement:
If you felt £425 was a bit much, then the prospect of paying just £299 would I’m sure be very enticing. But now that the standard PS3’s price has been dropped to just £350, I really don’t see where the attraction in the 40GB model is. Yes, you save enough money to buy an extra game and perhaps a cheapish toaster too, but you lose so much of the console that it’s simply not worth it. If I didn’t already own a PS3, I’d hurry up and get one now before the supplies run out and I’m forced into buying the compromised, overpriced and generally pointless 40GB version.
