High five! The best FPS of 2004 is back! And it’s brought some friends along!

The original Half-Life was one of the best games ever made. But the sequel somehow surpassed it when it was released, on this very day, in 2004. Now, developers Valve have released it again on the 360, PC and PS3. You would be forgiven for thinking a three year old game would be unable to cut it in a time of Gears, Halo 3 and BioShock. But it’s a testament to how great Valve’s series is that it can still be good 36 months later. Reviewing five games separately would take a long time, so here’s a breakdown of the Judgement for each one.

Judgement:

It may be 3 years old, but it’s the one of the best games of 2007. Great value for money, four amazing shooters, and one of the most original titles in years. Simply stunning. 94.
